This essay demonstrates the importance of the Arts for the development of mental processes that increase rational intelligence. On the other hand, it claims for the High School the knowledge of the image from the point of view of cognitive and subjective production, critical interpretation the contextualization of what is produced and what is being analyzed. A curriculum that interlinks the Visual Arts, Design, Popular Art and Audiovisual Culture would prepare the youth for a world of varied knowledge and almost unlimited work. Which profession did not work with image? From medicine to politics, everyone uses images, which they need to know to better provide right diagnoses or positive “marketing”. I appeal to the artists and designers to campaign, now that we are discussing the High School Curriculum, strengthen Arts and Design.
