Biocentric design is about learning from nature and applying it to products, taking ethics, ecology and sustainability into account. An effective interdisciplinary methodology to help teach anatomy in an expanded way, since integrative action is needed to guarantee the inclusion of people with disabilities in university education. In response to this problem, we sought to increase access for people with visual impairments, using assistive technologies. Thus, the skulls of two dolphin specimens were digitized, the first by three-dimensional (3D) scanning of the skull of a porpoise, the second by topographic capture of the skull of a common dolphin. The aim was to 3D print the skulls to create teaching resources. This shows the importance of biomimetic methodologies for the design of assistive objects, by mimicking the morphologies of dolphin skulls so that visually impaired people can understand animal anatomy. Therefore, this research project contributes to inclusive and ecological teaching in an interdisciplinary context.
