Abstract

This article examines how the book, as a practical, aesthetic, and symbolic artifact, has been affected and influenced by technological, behavioral, social, cultural, and economic changes. These changes have consequences on production, development, marketing, and consumption. The text discusses the evolution of this relationship over time, its current state and potential future trends. It emphasizes the historical significance and design of the book, considering it a crucial object associated with knowledge and human freedom.

Author Biographies

Vagner Basqueroto Martins, Universidade Estadual de Maringá

Experiência com design, publicidade e propaganda, marketing, intercâmbios, indústria e treinamentos. Nos últimos anos, tem se dedicado a pesquisa e docência tendo concluído o mestrado (2016) na UFPR. Foi professor do Curso de Design de Produtos no Campus de Cianorte da UEM (2017 a 2023), ministrou aulas em cursos de Pós-Graduações e conteúdos para disciplinas EAD de instituições superiores e questões de concursos nacionais. Atualmente é professor EBTT de Design Gráfico no Instituto Federal de Roraima. Além disso, é doutorando em História da Universidade Estadual de Maringá.

Marcelo dos Santos Forcato, Universidade Estadual de Maringá

Doutor em Design (2020) pela UNESP, tendo estudado o Design, o mobiliário litúrgico e suas relações semânticas. Mestre em Design pela UFPR (2014), estudou o Design para o Comportamento Sustentável e o eco-feedback em lavadora de roupas da habitação de interesse social. Possui especialização em Projeto de Interiores pelo Unicesumar (2010) e graduação em Design pela UEM (2005). Atualmente é professor do curso de Design da Universidade Estadual de Maringá ministrando as disciplinas de Desenho, Plástica, Projeto de Produtos I e Design de Mobiliário. Atua em pesquisas nas áreas de Design e Sustentabilidade, Design e Materiais e Design de Mobiliários.

Anelise Guadagnin Dalberto, Universidade Estadual de Maringá

Possui graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2002) e mestrado em Engenharia Urbana pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (2009). Atua como professora assistente da Universidade Estadual de Maringá no curso de Design. Tem experiência na área de Arquitetura, Planejamento Urbano e Ensino.
