In this paper, we conduct a study on formats, functions and effects of interactivity in the context of digital literature for children. The goal is to understand how interactivity can provide a meaningful literary experience to the reader from the analysis of Mobeybou in India, a literary app. This study is based on authors from areas such as Human-Computer Interaction (DOURISH, 2004), Electronic Literature (AARSETH, 1997; MILLER, 2004), Multimodality Studies (KALANTZIS; COPE; CHAN; DALLEY-TRIM, 2016; KRESS, 2006) and Children’s Digital Literature (KUCIRKOVA, 2017; RAMADA-PRIETO, 2017; MENEGAZZI, 2020; ZHAO; UNSWORTH, 2016). As results, we highlight that the interactivity in children’s digital literature is not only a technological expression, but it is also a range of semiotic resources capable to produce different meanings.
