This study investigates the potential of Animation Design as a poetic awakening for the mode of (re)existence of the Guarani Mbya people of Tekoa Krukutu, located in São Paulo/SP, and as a tool for the preservation and valorization of their culture. From a decolonial perspective in the arts, the article reports the development of an animation project, approached collaboratively, that reflects the community’s narratives, worldviews, and perspectives, respecting their traditional knowledge. Through storytelling and drawing workshops, the participatory process enabled the rescue of the community’s oral tradition and its translation into images. Animation Design thus emerges as an innovative and accessible means of cultural expression, capable of promoting dialogue between different worldviews. Design reveals itself as an effective link between different cultural and epistemological contexts, contributing to cultural awareness and diversity.
